Microsoft Power Platform: Apps, Automation, and Governance Training Course

This instructor-led, live training in Taiwan (online or onsite) is designed for business staff, managers, developers, and data analysts who wish to adapt, implement, integrate, and manage Microsoft Power Platform components and features in their organization.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Build simple applications with Power Apps to create custom solutions for everyday business needs.
• Automate workflow processes using Power Automate (formerly known as Microsoft Flow) to minimize manual and repetitive tasks.
• Create data reports and dashboards with Power BI to generate insightful analytics for the business.
• Build chatbots using Power Virtual Agents to automate and resolve common customer inquiries and issues.

This course provides a foundational understanding of the core principles behind Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate, and Power Apps, while also offering a high-level overview of Power BI. The curriculum is centered around a real-world workflow I previously handled manually for a former employer. We will build a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor construction tasks for homes under development (storing data in SharePoint for simplicity). Additionally, we will leverage Power Virtual Agents to demonstrate how to enable bots within Microsoft Teams, guiding users to locate documents that may be dispersed across various SharePoint sites, such as loan agreements, budgets, and sales contracts. I believe there is significant potential for these bots within HR and IT departments to address repetitive inquiries efficiently. I will also show you how to configure simple flows in Power Automate to save attachments from specific senders (in this course example, saving inspection reports organized by the bank for the units) and other straightforward flows that store data from Microsoft Forms back to SharePoint. Furthermore, we will establish fully automated processes using the Approvals app within Microsoft Teams. Once the app, bot, and flow are finalized, the concluding step involves creating a basic Power BI report. We will then use Power Automate to send a snapshot of the table containing the most recent completed tasks every two weeks to a designated recipient (the bank in this example). This request will include the draw date along with the budget amounts associated with those tasks (all data collected via the app). Finally, please note that this course offers a high-level perspective. I recommend that all learners utilize ChatGPT for more technical aspects, such as coding or formulas in Power Apps. However, this topic is covered within the course, where I demonstrate how to effectively use ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas to the best of its ability.
