OpenStack Administration Training Course

This instructor-led, live training in Taiwan (available online or on-site) targets DevOps engineers and developers who intend to deploy and manage OpenStack services on cloud infrastructures using Kubernetes.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Deploy, configure, and manage MOS and its components.
• Access OpenStack APIs.
• Perform common OpenStack operations tasks (backup, restore, etc.).
• Upgrade OpenStack deployments.

This course is designed to familiarize participants with the OpenStack environment from both operator and administrator perspectives. Following a brief introduction to cloud computing, you will be provided with your own OpenStack instance to perform hands-on operational and administrative tasks. The curriculum covers all fundamental components of OpenStack, ranging from general architecture to cloud administration. The course format consists of approximately 90% hands-on workshops conducted in a real OpenStack environment.

The course addresses all topics required for the Certified OpenStack Administrator exam, preparing participants both theoretically and practically. Additionally, the course content has been expanded to include topics that help participants better understand the nuances of OpenStack necessary to pass the exam. At the conclusion of the course, every participant will have the opportunity to assess their knowledge through a mock COA examination.

Notably, 75% of the training is delivered via hands-on workshops within a real OpenStack training environment.

This course offers comprehensive training on OpenStack. The extended version of the OpenStack Bootcamp includes additional exercises, troubleshooting scenarios, and sample examination tasks. Extended content is highlighted in bold within the course outline. Seventy-five percent of the course consists of hands-on workshops in a real OpenStack training environment. Customization options

The full course is designed to last at least five days. It may be shortened if certain topics are not relevant to the customer. If participants are beginners to OpenStack, a slower pace is recommended, extending the course to six days or removing some advanced topics. Alternatively, the course can be extended by one day to include OVN topics.

This course offers comprehensive training on OpenStack networking. It begins by introducing OpenStack and its architecture, then clarifies core OpenStack projects such as the Identity service (Keystone), Image service (Glance), Compute service (Nova), and Block storage (Cinder) to describe the network environment in OpenStack, with a primary focus on the Networking project (Neutron). The course describes virtual network infrastructure based on the Open Virtual Network project, Open vSwitch, and OpenFlow. The goal of the course is to understand basic operations and architecture of OpenStack as well as to familiarize participants with various networking technologies behind OpenStack, extending information about OVN and underlying flows, resources and tools.

Customization options

The training can be contracted to 2 days, focusing on core aspects relevant for the customer. The training can be also extended regarding administrative, design, networking and/or troubleshooting topics concerning OpenStack deployments. It is possible to describe other underlying SDN solutions like Linux Bridge or OvS.
