Design Thinking Training Course
Overview:
The Design Thinking (DT) process comprises five stages: empathize, define the problem, ideate, prototype, and test.
In an increasingly complex world, we often encounter problems that require specialized approaches. Design Thinking provides a framework to address these complex challenges effectively. By mastering design thinking, individuals can enhance their ability to tackle difficult issues, communicate more clearly, persuade efficiently, improve business outcomes, and boost both organizational and personal performance.
- How DT operates: gather insights from people and the problem, identify patterns, develop a model (considering potential drift), test the model, evaluate its effectiveness, and refine it as needed.
- The interconnection between Design Thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- DT methods and tools include creating personas, stakeholder maps, customer journey maps, service blueprints, and business model innovations.
- Applying DT: fostering a design mindset, driving disruptive innovation, adopting an iterative approach, utilizing agile estimation techniques, enhancing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, promoting teamwork, developing leadership readiness, improving communication, staying technology-savvy, thinking forward, building intercultural and ethical competencies, increasing emotional intelligence, cultivating self-awareness, honing negotiating skills, and resolving conflicts effectively.
Objectives:
- To gain a deep understanding of the principles and subtleties of Design Thinking
- To explore key concepts, factors, theories, types, and models within Design Thinking
- To engage in hands-on experimentation, experience, and practice with Design Thinking
Delivery:
This is a one-day (4-hour) training course that includes:
- lectures (40% - presentation of theories, concepts, models, and interactive sessions),
- group activities (30% - group dynamics, games, discussions, and mock conflict resolution exercises),
- individual tasks (15% - writing, designing, and peer discussions)
- and other components (15% - video viewings, readings).
