SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager with POPM Certification Training Course
Develop the necessary skill sets to guide value delivery within a Lean enterprise and gain insight into the activities, tools, and methodologies used for managing backlogs and programs by becoming a SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM). Over this two-day course, participants will delve deeply into understanding the Agile Release Train (ART), how it delivers value, and the effective performance of their role.
They will also learn to apply Lean thinking in writing Epics, breaking them down into Features and Stories, planning and executing Iterations, and planning Program Increments. Additionally, attendees will explore the Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevOps culture, understanding how to effectively integrate as Product Owners and Product Managers, and the importance of relentless improvement within the ART.
To excel in the role of a SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager, participants should be able to:
- Apply SAFe principles in a Lean enterprise
- Link SAFe Lean-Agile principles and values to their PO/PM roles
- Collaborate with Lean Portfolio Management
- Engage in continuous value delivery through Program Increment Planning
- Execute the Program Increment and ensure continuous value delivery
- Clearly articulate the responsibilities of Product Owners and Product Managers
- Create a comprehensive role action plan

Requirements

Practitioner in Agile Quality (PAQ) certification
21 HoursPAQ is a three-day experiential exam preparation training course designed to refine practical skills that can be directly applied back in the workplace.
The exam is structured as a 'hands-on' assessment, where candidates are provided with a product backlog release that includes user stories, associated design documentation, and a ‘multi-drop’ application seeded with defects. Candidates will receive clear instructions on what is expected of them during the practical assessment and will have the opportunity to create the necessary work products. Each practical assessment will include 1 or 2 additional scenario-based questions (up to 5 questions in total) that cover various competencies. These written answers, along with the responses to the product backlog release, will be evaluated by an independent assessor. The assessment duration is 2.5 hours.
